Why Optimised News

Education that serves
the learner, not a product.

What distinguishes our programmes is not marketing. It is how they are built, who teaches them, and what participants walk away with.

At a Glance

What participants consistently value.

Singapore-specific content

CPF, SGX, local tax considerations — the context is always Singapore, not a generic Western framework adapted imperfectly.

Practitioner-led

Every facilitator has direct experience in the subject they teach. No generalists covering multiple unrelated topics.

No product interests

We have no affiliation with financial institutions. Nothing we teach is shaped by a commercial relationship.

Hands-on learning

Each session includes practical exercises — not passive listening. Participants leave with something they made, not just slides they received.

Small cohort sizes

Intentionally limited enrolment means more discussion time, more personalised attention, and better learning conditions.

Regularly updated

Materials are reviewed and updated in line with regulatory and market changes, so what is taught reflects current conditions.

Deep Knowledge

Facilitators who have lived the subject matter.

Each programme at Optimised News is designed and delivered by someone with direct professional experience in the area they teach. The Budgeting programme draws on years of working with individuals to rebuild their relationship with daily spending. The Investments programme is led by someone who has actively worked in regional markets. The Planning programme is facilitated by a practitioner with deep familiarity with CPF structures and retirement modelling in Singapore.

This is not a large organisation that trains facilitators to cover a catalogue. Each person teaches one thing and knows it well.

Over 15 years of cumulative experience across the facilitation team

Facilitators hold finance-related qualifications and maintain current knowledge

Programme design shaped by direct feedback from past participants

Curriculum reviewed at least annually for accuracy and relevance

Session plans designed for adult learners, not academic study

Exercises applied to participants' own financial data where appropriate

Materials provided in advance so session time focuses on discussion

Realistic timelines matched to each programme's scope

Programme Design

A structure that makes the learning stick.

Understanding finances once, briefly, does not change behaviour. Our programmes are structured to revisit and reinforce key concepts across multiple sessions, allow time for participants to apply what they have learned between sessions, and return to questions that come up in practice.

The format — small groups, regular sessions, hands-on work — is deliberate. It reflects how adults actually build lasting understanding rather than how content is most easily delivered.

Participant Experience

Attentive, unhurried, and genuinely supportive.

We limit enrolment in each programme deliberately. This means that in any given session, there is space for participants to ask questions, raise their own situations, and have a real conversation rather than absorbing a presentation.

The Comprehensive Financial Planning programme includes three individual consultations precisely because some aspects of financial planning are deeply personal and benefit from one-on-one time. We do not consider this a premium add-on — it is part of what makes that programme work.

Cohort sizes kept small to allow genuine discussion

Participants encouraged to bring their own questions and situations

Private consultations for individual circumstances (Planning programme)

Post-programme access to materials for ongoing reference

Pricing set to reflect the full cost of quality facilitation, not driven by market comparison

All materials, tools, and platforms included in programme fees

No upsells, no follow-up product recommendations

Transparent scope — what is covered in each programme is clearly stated in advance

Clear Value

Straightforward pricing, nothing hidden.

Our programme fees cover everything included in that programme — there are no additional costs for materials, tools, or platform access. The Comprehensive Financial Planning programme fee includes three individual consultations as a standard component, not as an optional extra.

We do not believe in pricing designed to seem accessible before adding layers of optional extras. The scope of each programme is stated clearly before enrolment.

What Sets Us Apart

Distinctive features of our approach.

A learning path, not a single course

Our three programmes form a natural progression — each building on the previous. Participants who complete Budgeting Essentials are better equipped for Understanding Investments, and so on. The path exists; following it is entirely optional.

Designed around the Singapore CPF system

CPF is not an afterthought — it is central to how we teach retirement and long-term planning. This is not content developed elsewhere and localised superficially. CPF is integral to the planning framework we use.

Education, not advice — and we mean it

We are transparent about what we are and are not. Participants leave knowing more and thinking more clearly — but we are not their financial planner. That distinction shapes everything about how we teach.

Materials designed for ongoing use

The budgeting toolkit, workbook, and reference library are not just session aids — they are designed to be used after the programme ends. Participants leave with resources that remain useful as their circumstances change.

SkillsFuture-aligned content

Our programme frameworks align with the competencies recognised under Singapore's SkillsFuture initiative, particularly in financial literacy and personal finance management.

Participant referral rate

More than half of new enrolments each year come through word-of-mouth referral from past participants. We consider this the most honest reflection of programme quality.
