These Terms & Conditions form a legally binding agreement between you and Optimised News. By enrolling in any programme or accessing our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Definitions
In these Terms, the following words carry the meanings set out below:
- "Optimised News", "we", "us", "our" refers to Optimised News, operating from 80 Robinson Road, #14-02, Singapore 068898.
- "Service" means any financial education programme, workshop, consultation, or related resource offered by Optimised News.
- "User", "you", "participant" means the individual who accesses or enrols in our Services.
- "Programme" refers to any structured course or learning experience we offer, including Budgeting & Cash Flow Essentials, Understanding Investments, and Comprehensive Financial Planning.
- "Content" includes all materials, templates, workbooks, presentations, recordings, and reference resources provided during or after a Programme.
- "Agreement" means these Terms & Conditions together with any enrolment confirmation or supplementary documents.
- "SGD" means Singapore Dollars, the currency applicable to all fees.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an enrolment enquiry, completing a registration form, or making a payment to Optimised News, you confirm that you accept these Terms in full. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, we respectfully ask that you do not proceed with enrolment.
Minimum Age Requirement
Our programmes are designed for individuals aged 18 years and above. By enrolling, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Participants under 21 who are considered minors under applicable Singapore law must have parental or guardian consent.
Capacity
You confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement and that the information you provide during registration is accurate and complete.
3. Service Description
Optimised News offers financial education programmes delivered in a structured group learning environment, supplemented by private consultations where applicable. Our Services are educational in nature and do not constitute financial advice, investment advice, or professional financial planning under the Financial Advisers Act (Cap. 110) of Singapore.
Service Availability
Programmes are scheduled periodically. We reserve the right to adjust session dates, facilitators, or delivery formats with reasonable prior notice to enrolled participants. Where in-person sessions are not feasible, we may substitute equivalent online delivery.
Geographic Scope
Our Services are primarily designed for Singapore residents. Content references the Singapore financial and regulatory context, including CPF, MAS-regulated products, and local tax considerations. We do not currently offer programmes tailored to other jurisdictions.
4. Enrolment & Participant Accounts
Enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of full payment unless a payment plan has been agreed in writing. We will send a confirmation to the email address provided at registration.
Registration Information
You are responsible for providing accurate contact and payment details. Any changes to your registered information should be communicated to us promptly at [email protected].
Transferability
Enrolment places are non-transferable unless agreed in writing by Optimised News. If you are unable to attend, please contact us to discuss options in advance of the programme start date.
Cohort Sizes
We limit cohort sizes to maintain the quality of group learning. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis based on enrolment confirmation date.
5. User Responsibilities
Acceptable Conduct
Participants are expected to engage respectfully with facilitators and fellow participants at all times. Our learning environment is collaborative and we ask everyone to support that atmosphere.
Prohibited Activities
- Recording sessions without prior written consent from Optimised News
- Sharing, distributing, or reproducing programme materials outside the cohort
- Using our platforms or communications to promote external products or services
- Disrupting sessions or engaging in conduct that affects other participants' learning experience
- Misrepresenting your identity, credentials, or professional capacity during programmes
- Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any materials, systems, or accounts associated with Optimised News
Confidentiality in Group Sessions
Participants may share personal financial information during group discussions. We ask all participants to treat such disclosures with discretion and not share specifics outside the session context.
6. Intellectual Property
All programme materials, including workbooks, templates, presentations, reference guides, and digital resources, are the intellectual property of Optimised News or its licensed content partners. These materials are provided for your personal educational use only.
Limited Licence
Upon enrolment, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the materials for your own learning. This licence does not permit reproduction, redistribution, sublicensing, or commercial use of any content.
Restrictions
- You may not adapt, translate, or create derivative works from our materials without written permission
- The Optimised News name, logo, and programme titles may not be used for external promotion without consent
- Post-programme resource access is provided for individual use and does not extend to third parties
7. Payment Terms
Fees
All fees are quoted in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and are inclusive of GST where applicable, in accordance with the Goods and Services Tax Act. Current programme fees are:
- SGD 320 — Budgeting & Cash Flow Essentials (5 weeks)
- SGD 870 — Understanding Investments (8 weeks)
- SGD 2,680 — Comprehensive Financial Planning (12 weeks)
Payment Methods
We accept bank transfer (PayNow and FAST), credit and debit cards, and other methods as specified during enrolment. Payment must be received in full before the programme start date unless a written instalment arrangement has been confirmed.
Cancellation and Refunds
- Cancellations made more than 14 calendar days before the programme start date: full refund less a SGD 50 administrative fee
- Cancellations made 7–14 days before start date: 50% refund
- Cancellations made fewer than 7 days before start date: no refund, but a credit note valid for 12 months may be issued at our discretion
- If Optimised News cancels or significantly restructures a programme, a full refund will be provided
Missed Sessions
Fees are not adjusted for sessions missed by the participant. Where operationally possible, we may provide session notes or recordings for participants who notify us of absences in advance.
8. Programme-Specific Terms
Budgeting & Cash Flow Essentials
This 5-week programme consists of weekly 90-minute sessions. Participants receive a personal budgeting toolkit and spreadsheet templates. Completion of exercises between sessions is encouraged but not assessed.
Understanding Investments
This 8-week programme includes access to an investment simulation platform for the duration of the cohort. Simulation access expires 30 days after the final session. The curated reference library remains accessible for 6 months post-completion. Access credentials are personal and non-transferable.
Comprehensive Financial Planning
This 12-week programme includes three private consultations scheduled in agreement with the participant. Consultations must be used within 6 months of the programme end date. Private consultations are conducted by qualified Optimised News facilitators. Post-programme resource access is provided for 12 months from the final group session.
Certificates and Completion
Completion acknowledgements are issued to participants who attend at least 80% of scheduled sessions. These documents acknowledge participation in an educational programme and do not represent a professional qualification or licence.
9. Disclaimers
Important: Optimised News provides financial education, not regulated financial advice. Nothing in our programmes constitutes a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial instrument, nor does it constitute personalised financial planning advice under Singapore law.
Our Services are provided on an "as available" basis. While we take care to ensure the accuracy of our educational content, we cannot warrant that all information is complete, current, or suitable for your individual circumstances.
Participants are encouraged to consult a licensed financial adviser or financial planner for personalised recommendations regarding their specific financial situation.
We do not make any representation that participation in our programmes will result in specific financial outcomes. Individual results vary depending on personal circumstances, markets, and the application of learning over time.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted under Singapore law, Optimised News shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses
- Loss of profits, investment losses, or financial decisions made based on programme content
- Loss of data, business interruption, or reputational damage
- Actions taken by participants in reliance on educational content
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the provision of Services shall not exceed the fees paid by you for the specific programme in question.
Force Majeure
We shall not be held in breach of these Terms where performance is prevented or delayed by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to public health directives, natural events, or governmental restrictions. We will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or provide alternative arrangements.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Optimised News, its facilitators, staff, and representatives from and against any claims, losses, costs, or liabilities arising from:
- Your breach of these Terms
- Your conduct during or in connection with any programme
- Any misrepresentation made by you during enrolment or participation
- Your unauthorised use or distribution of programme materials
12. Termination
By You
You may withdraw from a programme by notifying us in writing. Refund eligibility is governed by the cancellation terms in Section 7.
By Optimised News
We reserve the right to withdraw a participant from a programme where their conduct materially disrupts the experience of others, violates these Terms, or reflects dishonesty in their application. In such cases, we will determine refund eligibility on a case-by-case basis.
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your access to online materials, simulation platforms, and resource libraries will be revoked. Provisions relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability survive termination.
13. Dispute Resolution
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any disputes shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
Informal Resolution
We prefer to resolve concerns informally. If you have a grievance, please contact us at [email protected]. We will endeavour to respond within five business days and work toward a fair resolution.
Mediation
Where informal resolution is not achieved within 30 days, either party may request mediation through the Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC) before proceeding to litigation.
Consumer Protection
Nothing in these Terms affects your rights under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act or other applicable Singapore consumer protection legislation.
14. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with your enrolment confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between you and Optimised News relating to the Services.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of the right to enforce it in future.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations to a successor entity with reasonable notice to you.
- Notices: Formal notices under these Terms should be directed to [email protected] or delivered by post to our registered address.
- Language: These Terms are written in English. In the event of any translation, the English version prevails.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our programmes, applicable laws, or operating practices. Where changes are material, we will notify enrolled participants via email at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
Your continued participation in any Optimised News programme following a notified change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
The version date at the top of this document indicates when these Terms were last revised.
